Audra Two Thunders

I am from the Grand Traverse Band on my mother’s side and Turtle Mountain Chippewa on my father’s side. My role at the Indian Community School is to help support language and culture throughout the school. I actively participate in ceremonies, and language classes and continue to work on “Rites of Passage” for our youth. I am a mother of two alumni and two current students. I moved to Milwaukee to help the Urban Indian Population and have stepped up in many roles that deal with education, culture, and other youth leadership programming. I earned my associate degree from Bryant and Stratton College in 2018. I serve on different committees within the city of Milwaukee such as the Milwaukee Indian Education Committee, and the MIEC Teaching Lodge. I am a lifelong learner of language and culture and strive to be a positive role model for our native youth living in the city. I currently work at the Indian Community School as the Our Ways Coordinator I strongly support the school’s goals of firmly interweaving language/culture and academics.
